A little translation of Christmas tale
During my Christmas holiday, I went to the movies to see Hugo Cabret : my friend really wanted to see a Christmas tale. Even I didn't desire to do so, I really couldn't refuse because I forced him to go with me for a two hours french documentary. I didn't know the novel, and I was a little afraid of Paris american cliché even if it's realized by Scorcese ! Finally, I appreciated it. There was a lot of passage about art and story of Georges Meliès that remenbered me of my student time : I had a friend who studied his work and we had a lot of discussion and saw exhibition... And I was also pleasantly surprised by the 1930's costumes. But I understood why : the costumer designer is Sandy Powell. The one who made those of Interview with a vampire : what a great film with a beautiful story, strong characters with such elegance that crossing through the centuries. I was and I'm still really found of Claudia's cape with huge hood and also Louis and Lestat's eighteen century shirt !
